The year began with the participation of a Cozimax athlete in an international race! Our athlete Sidney de Paula participated last Saturday (12) in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2019 Half Marathon , in Orlando-USA, a race known worldwide mainly for its route, which crosses the famous Disney parks.
Sidney began his preparation in mid-October 2018, when he was still in Brazil, with the guidance of Professor William Batista, from Cozimax . Following a routine of training and muscle strengthening to face the challenge that lay ahead, “the support of colleagues on the Cozimax team was essential to maintain encouragement and focus on daily training”, stated Sidney.
According to him, “when sport becomes part of your daily routine, being without it (running, gym, swimming, etc.) is very difficult, as your body becomes slower, lazy, and Ukraine Phone Number becomes a victim of stress. and fatigue. But today, I can safely say that sport is fundamental and is part of my life”.
Upon arriving in American territory at the beginning of January, Sidney remained focused on training and his main challenge was to face the low temperatures at this time of year, which ranged from 4º to 8º degrees, with a thermal sensation of 0º degrees. Even so, he maintained regularity in training with the aim of achieving good results in the race.
The Half-Marathon started at 5:30 am this Saturday (12) in Orlando, and as it couldn't be any different, our athlete had to once again overcome the low temperatures and other difficulties of the race, finishing the 21 km with a time of 02: 02:34, and taking position number 2120.
“It was a fantastic race, full of charm and magic, run within the Disney parks, and passing through well-known spots such as Cinderella's castle, among many others in the Disney world. I can safely say that there were 21 km that I didn't even see go by, because at each part of the journey I had a surprise, which made this race a unique experience and a dream come true”, concluded Sidney.
